Before Peace Corps, I hadn’t taken many life chances. I went to university in my home state…I traveled abroad with my youth group at church and my university for study abroad. I didn’t do anything too out of the box.
Well…Peace Corps is out of the box. Ethiopia is certainly out of the box. I’m not saying I’ll for sure stick out the next thirteen months, because who can say what the future holds, but for now I’m ready to give it another go. My mid-service crisis is over…I think.
Now if only there was a Life and Death Brigade to join over here…one with ball gowns and gorilla masks and a seven-story scaffolding to jump from with bungee cords and umbrellas – and if you didn’t follow this latest tangent, you clearly don’t have enough Gilmore Girls in your life.
Mostly, I just need more to keep my life interesting and exciting…you’d think Ethiopia would be enough, but it’s easy to fall into a rut here. New goal? Visit every volunteer’s site in country? Eh, probably not : ) I’ll think of something…
